

Stella Snapke, age 92 died Wednesday, July 06, 2011 at Bortz Health Care facility in Warren Michigan. Stella was born June 13, 1919 in Detroit, Michigan the daughter of the late Vincent Gozdanek and the late Ewa (nee: Gozdowska) Gozdanek. Stella was raised in Detroit and lived most of her adult life in Detroit. She was a devout catholic and a devoted member to St. Louis the King Catholic Church. Stella was a wonderful wife and mother to her children. She truly was the protector and matriarch of the Snapke household. She cherished her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her children will fondly remember their mother as a wonderful cook and baker who was known for her delicious pie crusts. Additional hobbies included needlepoint and sewing. Two things in Stellas life were paramount first her family and then God and her church. Her whole life she prepared for her reward in Heaven. She devoted much of her time to the church and the many activities at St. Louis the King Parish including working booths at the many festivals. Stella was the beloved wife of the late Norbert, and the dear mother of Vincent, Mike, David (Gladys), Rosanne, and Tim (Myrna) Snapke. She is also the loving grandmother of Aaron (Amber) Snapke, Amie (Tim) Johnson, and great-grandmother of Gwenyth, and Fiona. Visitation for Mrs. Snapke will be held at D. S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Rd. at Common (12 mile), on Thursday from 3:30-9pm with a 7pm Rosary Service. Mrs. Snapke will lie in state 9:30am Friday at St. Louis the King Catholic Church, on 7 Mile in Detroit, until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:00am. Celebrating the Funeral Liturgy will be Rev. Fr. Boleslaw Krol. Interment will be Mount Olivet Cemetery in Detroit. Memorial donations appreciated to the Capuchin Fathers. Please share memories of Stella at her guest book.
