Stella Bernice Sommers, of Warren, age 89, died Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at St. John Macomb Hospital in Warrren.Stella was born April 22, 1923 in Scranton, Pennsylvania the daughter of the late William and the late Bernice (nee: Hoscila) Piskorz. Stella's family migrated to Michigan where Stella was raised in the Detroit area. Stella was a wonderful "stay at home" mom who enjoyed watching CNN, going out to restaurants, and playing cards. However, her passion was her love of her family and watching them grow and mature.Stella was the beloved wife of the late Erwin Sommers, and is the loving mother of Sandy (Gary) Lupo, Debby (Tom) Smith, and Gayle (Al) Bock. Also surviving are her cherished grandchildren Scott, Ross, and Kali. Great-grandmother of Spencer and Sadie. A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, November 12, 2012 at St. Michael's Catholic Church at 9:30am.Memorial donations are appreciated to the Shrine of St. Jude.
