Stella Stanczak

Stella Stanczak, 87 of Warren, died Tuesday, October 17, 2006 at Beaumont Hospital in Troy. Stella was born October 31, 1918 in Detroit, Michigan the daughter of the late Michael and the late Lucy (nee: Wozniak) Laskowski. Stella is survived by her beloved husband Thaddeus Ted. Loving mother of Sandra (Dale) Billings, Teresa Rutherford, and Marcia (Eugene) Jamroz. Dearest grandmother of David Billings, Lauren (Joe) Wright, and Courtney Bixman. Great- grandmother of Tyler Wright. Sister of Halina Paczwa, and Bernadine Zawacki. Stella was raised and schooled in Detroit and worked after high school for Champion Spark Plug Company, before she and her husband had children. She is a 54 year resident of Warren. Stella became a stay at home mother to raise her three daughters. She would volunteer her time at Ascension Catholic School where her children attended, and also worked as a volunteer at the church. She belonged to the Ascension Rosary Society and also the St. Anne Society. After her children were grown she went back to work at Minnesota Fabrics. Mrs. Stanczak loved to sew and this is what provoked her interest to work for the fabric store. Her daughters remember their mother always sewing new outfits for them. In addition to sewing she enjoyed baking, and traveling with her husband. They would often visit their daughter in California. She cherished her grandchildren, and would always think of others before herself. Visitation for Stella will be Wednesday from 5-9 pm, and Thursday from 1-9 pm, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 mile). A Rosary Service will be held Thursday at 5:30 pm. Stella will lie in state Friday 10:00 am, at Ascension Catholic Church until the time of the funeral Mass 10:30 am. Celebrating the funeral Mass will be Rev. Fr. Norbert Maciejewski. Interment will follow in St. Clement Cemetery Center Line.
