Steven Lewis Gaither

Steven L. Gaither, age 51 of Warren, died Monday, November 2, 2009 at Henry Ford Bi-County Hospital in Warren. Steve was born on May 18, 1958 in Memphis, Tennessee, the son of William "Woody" and Dorothy "Dot" (nee: Moore) Gaither. By trade, Steve was a mechanic. But not just any mechanic, he was quite proficient when it came to wielding his tools. He knew his way around engines and machines and was so good at what he did, he was considered a real "Gear Head" by all who knew him. Steve also had a number of passions in life that offered him those "escapes of enjoyment" that were the stuff of memories. From his love of Harley Davidson motorcycles, to the times spent down at a favorite fishing hole, to his appreciation for guns, Steve was truly a man's man. But of all his loves and passions, the tenderest part of his heart belonged to his best buddy & pet, "Harley." Steve will forever be remembered for that part of his personality that brought out the smiles and laughter in everybody he knew. Known as a real jokester, humor came easy for Steve and he was never afraid to share its wealth. He was also known for the warm smile that adorned his face, whether at home or at church, a proud member of Westview Baptist Church in Warren, Steven had a smile that will be immensely missed by all those whose lives were touched by his. Beloved husband of Deborah. Loving father of Loretta (Daryl) Bujak and Grant Gaither. Loving son of Woody and Dot Gaither. Dear brother of Jerry (Raeanna) Baily, Randy (Michelle) Gaither and Karen (Jerry) Watkins. Also survived by 5 grandchildren. Visitation for Steve will be on Thursday, November 5 from 3:00-9:00pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Rd.) in Warren. His funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Friday at the funeral home, with Pastor Tom Watson and Brother Daryl Bujak officiating. Interment will follow at Cadillac Memorial Garden East Cemetery in Clinton Township, Michigan. Please share memories of Steve at his guest book.
