Susan “Sue Sue” Marie Fleury (née Shereda), passed away peacefully on October 4, 2026, at the age of 67. She was born on August 16, 1959, in Detroit, Michigan, to Gloria and the late Gerald Shereda. She graduated from Clintondale High School in 1977.
Susan was a devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend whose greatest joy was her family. She was the beloved mother of Scott (Rachel) Fleury, Thomas Fleury, and Jillian (Jeffrey) Mahlmeister, and the proud grandmother of Jake, Addison, Olivia, Paige, Jax, and Preston. She is also survived by her mother, Gloria; sisters Connie and Sandy and their families; as well as her beloved black Labs, Elsa and Anna, and her many granddogs.
Susan loved her family deeply and was absolutely obsessed with her grandchildren. She cherished every moment spent with them and took tremendous pride in watching them grow. She was compassionate, thoughtful, and always had a special way of making others feel loved and cared for. A generous and thoughtful gift giver, Susan took great joy in choosing meaningful gifts for the people she loved. She was a woman with a heart of gold who worked hard, cared deeply, and left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Her faith was an important part of her life, and she loved her church, St. Malachy. She found happiness in the simple things like tending to her beautiful flower garden, spending time in the backyard with her dogs, and keeping her home immaculate. She loved a clean house and was always busy making sure everything was just right.
A lifelong Detroit Tigers fan, Susan was devoted to her team and could often be heard cheering, “Bless you, Boys!”
Susan will be remembered for her generous heart, unwavering devotion to her family, strong work ethic, love of her grandchildren and animals, and the warmth she brought into the lives of so many. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
