Susan Marie Gandolfo of Warren – Passed away on October 28, 2021 at the age of 62. Cherished daughter of Donald and the late Genevieve Rosinski; dear sister of Carol (Matthew) Anthony, Michael (Michelle) Rosinski, Michelle (John) Strainer, and Patrick (Lisa) Rosinski. Loving aunt to ten nieces and nephews: John Jr., Andrew, Sarah, Andrea, Emily, Rachel, Francine, Allison, Luke and Owen. The family dogs, Heidi, Penny and Annie Mae, adored Sue.
Susan worked for various engineering firms including DEC and CKGP/PW before her 30+ year tenure at Ford Motor Company.
She was known to her family, friends, and Ford family as one of the greatest Michigan fans around, especially during football season. Besides being a season ticket holder for years and attending many home football games, she also traveled to some away games and Rose Bowls, including the 1997 championship, where she flew home from LA seated next to some of the players which culminated that experience. She was involved in the Millie Schembechler Memorial Golf Classic for Adrenal Cancer for many years.
Christmas was her favorite time of year. She was passionate about decorating for the season and would take days to decorate the tree to make sure each ornament was placed precisely where she wanted it. She wished to make Christmas special for everyone, and sponsored several children each year to fulfill their Christmas dreams.
Traveling the world was another passion of hers. She visited many countries in Europe and also took a dream trip to China.
Her love for Disney was contagious--many of her nieces and nephews have a strong passion for Disney too. This started in the 1970’s when the family took camping trips to Disney World every other year. Mary Poppins was her favorite film, and Sue would sing and dance to the music with her nieces. She enjoyed getting her nieces and nephews to march during Peter Pan or Snow White.
Any and all time spent with her nieces and nephews was extremely important to Sue. She would paint toe nails and make them stand on the kitchen table for 5 minutes (to them it felt like hours) to get the polish to dry. She accompanied families on trips to the zoo, The Henry Ford, museums, sports venues, and many other places, trying to make each experience special.
Sue took care of her parents during mom’s early stages of Alzheimers. She continued to care for dad once mom moved into a memory care facility.
Susan also believed in volunteering and supporting charity organizations. Besides those mentioned above, Sue supported the Franciscan Sisters of the Atonement (along with many of her Ford colleagues), Habitat for Humanity, JDRF, Boo Bash & Wild Lights at the Detroit Zoo and more.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday November 20, 2021 at St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church, 31555 Hoover Rd, Warren, Michigan, from 10:00 am until the time of Mass at 11:00 am. Arrangements entrusted to the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home in Warren.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to C.S. Mott Children's Hospital, Michigan Humane or Franciscan Project Inc (Chelsea, Michigan PO Box 9). Please share memories of Susan at her guest book below.
