Tamara Ann Wallace

Born on March 8th, 1945, Tammy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a woman of strong character, and a devout Catholic whose faith guided her throughout her life. For 18 years, she managed the lunch program for students with special needs at Macomb Intermediate School District. She saw to it that every student had something to eat each day.

In her early 20’s, she traded in her two horses, Brandy and Joe, to take up motorcycling with Tom when they began dating. She and Tom enjoyed traveling around Michigan to different landmarks. They were married on October 23, 1971, and after their daughters, Tracy and Michelle, were born, they purchased a vacation home in Canada on Walpole Island. Tammy and her family spent the summer there until the Michigan summers called them back home. Tammy and Tom purchased a camper, and for the next 9 summers camped at the Double R Ranch in Belding, Michigan. After the camping chapter came to a close, they found their second home in Port Austin, Michigan, where she enjoyed many trips to the beach, sunsets, meteor showers and stargazing on the deck, delicious meals, bonfires with s’mores, dough-boys and hobo pies, and time with family and friends for the next 30 years.

She had many special interests throughout her years. She liked to spend time reading before turning in for the night. Some of her favorite genres included novels about the Amish lifestyle by Beverly Lewis, and a fair share of fantasy novels, especially Harry Potter. Another one of her favorite pastimes was going to the movie theater, where Tammy and her sister, Kathy, loved going to the “Free Popcorn Tuesdays” at MJR. She was always cooking old family recipes from comfort meals to desserts, and everything in between. Her Texas Tea, Mostaccioli and Puppy Chow were fan favorites amongst the family and close friends. When she wasn’t cooking, Tammy had her favorite handful of restaurants to sit down or carry out.

Tammy loved the outdoors, and looked forward to getting her spring flowers planted at home and up north to enjoy throughout the summers. She loved how the flowers would bring butterflies and a sprinkling of dragonflies to view and enjoy. Her Catholic faith was extremely important to her. She attended mass each week, and always said prayers daily. Towards the end of her life, even during the times where challenges with her health were taking control, she maintained her wit, humor, charm, and never missed an episode of Judge Judy or Family Feud.

She is survived by her loving husband, Tom; her children, Tracy and Michelle; her grandchildren, Megann (Jeremy), Skylar, Tabatha, and Xander; and her siblings, Kathy, Danny, and Mary. She also leaves behind many dear extended family members and friends.

The Memorial Visitation for Tamara will be held at D.S. Temrowski and Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road, Warren, MI 48093, on September 17, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

A Memorial Service will take place at D.S. Temrowski and Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road, Warren, MI 48093, on September 18, 2026, at 11:00 am.

Inurnment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, 18201 Clinton River Rd, Michigan, MI 48038.
