

Theodore "Ted" Nawrocki age 90 a longtime resident of Eastpointe Michigan and recently of Novi died January 23, 2014 at the Wellspring Healthcare in Livonia Michigan.Ted was born November 7, 1923 in Detroit Michigan the son of the late George Nawrocki and the late Mary (nee: Watchowski) Nawrocki. Ted was raised in Detroit and attended St. Hyacinth grade school and later went on to graduate from Northwestern High School.Mr. Nawrocki faithfully served our Country during World War II in the United States Army having achieved the rank of Corporal. Mr. Nawrocki served in the capacity of Rifleman and Military Police. We honor Ted as a man of the "Greatest Generation" who would receive many military accolades and accomplishments including the Silver Battle Star and a Purple Heart for wounds received in action of February 17, 1944 at Anzio Italy.After his military service Mr. Nawrocki returned to Detroit and went to work for Sheller-Globe Corporation which later became United Technologies a U.S. auto parts manufacturer and industrial conglomerate. Mr. Nawrocki retired as a purchasing agent for the company.When Ted was not working he was devoted to the time spent with his wife and family.Mr. Nawrocki was the beloved husband of over 63 year to Dolores (nee: Stoinski) Nawrocki and was the cherished father of Cheryl Laski. He is the loving grandfather of Kristen, Robert Jr., and Bradley. He is further survived by his sister Mary Ann Dominick, and predeceased by five sisters and two brothers. Mr. Nawrocki will lie in State Saturday 9:30am until the time of the Funeral Mass 10:30am at St. Angela Catholic Church, 25275 Chippendale St. in Roseville. Fr. Darrell Roman officiating the Liturgy.
