
Theresa Joan Gruzwalski, age 73 a resident of Warren for over 50 years, died Monday, August 23, 2010 at St. John Hospital in Detroit. Theresa was born June 24, 1937 in Detroit, Michigan the daughter of the late Joseph W. Lemanski and the late Harriet (nee: Kloka) Lemanski. She was raised in Detroit and graduated from St. Catherine Catholic school in Detroit where she was a four-year honor student. Theresa married her husband in June of 1957 and two days later he shipped out for military service in Germany. Theresa would later join her husband in Germany and later the Gruzwalski family would return to the United States settling in Warren. Theresa was devoted to her church St. Malachy in Sterling Heights, where she was active as a Lector, Eucharistic Minister, the Womens Club, and also dedicating her time working the Doll Booth at the annual festival for over 25 years. In addition to her faith Theresa was the center and core of her family her devotion to her children and grandchildren went unmatched. When Theresa wanted to have fun, time was spent bowling and working as a league officer for many years. Also she and her husband loved to travel visiting Hawaii twice and much of Europe. She and her husband also had fun visiting the casinos and dancing, she considered her dear Joe her lover. Theresa was the beloved wife of Ronald Joe Gruzwalski, and the dearest mother of Carol (David) Challis, Mary Ann (Tony) Crimando, Diane (Ron) Carrier, and Ronnie (Tammy) Gruzwalski. She is the sister of Frank Lemanski, and loving grandmother of Melissa, Tricia (Tim), David, Michael, Jeffrey, Shannon, Maria, Anthony, Zachary, Haley, Nicholas, Tori, Dominic, Mckenzie, and great grandmother of Brayden. She was predeceased by her sisters, Joni Prebelich and Judy Swieczkowski. Visitation for Theresa will be held Thursday from 5-9 pm and Friday from 2-9 pm, with a 7pm Rosary Service at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Road). Theresa will lie in state Saturday 10 am at St. Malachy Catholic Church until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:30 am.
