

Thomas Anthony Pietrangelo, age 84 a longtime resident of Roseville, died Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township Michigan. Thomas was born May 01, 1926 in Detroit, Michigan the son of the late Thomas A. Pietrangelo and the late Julia (nee: Selke) Pietrangelo. Mr. Pietrangelo was raised in Detroit and was quite an athlete as a young man. We pay honor and tribute to this gentleman who would serve his country in the Philippines during World War II with the United States Army. He attained the Combat Infantry Badge, along with the Meritous Unit Award and many different award ribbons. Upon his return from the military Mr. Pietrangelo went to work at Chryslers Dodge Main plant as a job setter and eventually retired as a foreman. Never one to sit still he returned to the workforce working security for Saratoga Hospital for the next 16 years before moving on to St. John Connor Creek Hospital for the next 10 years. Mr. Pietrangelo was not home much due to his work commitment, however when he was his family was paramount in his life. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, or just watching the boats travel across the straits of Mackinaw when he and his family would travel to northern Michigan. He also enjoyed the local sports teams, music and was an accomplished trumpet player. He played the bugle in the military and later played trumpet with a local band. Mr. Pietrangelo is the beloved husband of Eleanore (nee: Lamparski) Pietrangelo, and the dear father of Carol Lynn (James) Osendorf, Larry Pietrangelo, Geralene Pietrangelo, and Patricia (Christopher) Zuellig. Loving grandfather of Jennifer, Megan, Jason, Ashleigh, and greatgrandfather of Kasia, Alexander, and Landon. Also surviving are his siblings, Julie Wirgau, Mary Stawartz, Elaine Morse, Jerome Pietrangelo, Rita Ross, and Marlene (George). Visitation Monday 5-9 pm and Tuesday 2-9 pm with a 7 pm Rosary service at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Rd. at Common (12 mile). Mr. Pietrangelo will lie in state Wednesday 10:30 am, at St. Angela Catholic Church until the time of the Funeral Mass 11:00 am. Please share memories of Mr. Pietrangelo at his guest book.
