Thomas John Richards age 56, died September 12, 2008 at Clarkston Specialty Healthcare Center in Clarkston Michigan. Thomas was born June 23, 1952 in Detroit Michigan, the son of the late Justin John Richards Jr. and the late Shirley May (nee: McGrath). Mr. Richards was raised in Madison Heights Michigan and graduated from Lamphere High School class of 1971. While Thomas was in high school he was a varsity track star, still holding school records to this day. Also during high school he worked at Hot Shoppes Cafeteria at Oakland Mall where he would eventually meet his future wife. After returning from his military service Thomas married his sweetheart Nancy (nee: Samson), and would remain married for over 32 years. Mr. Richards worked as a security guard for much of his life until health problems forced him to retire. When he was not working he was an avid Detroit Tiger and Red Wing fan. Also he loved music especially the early 70s Rock and Black Sabbath. He had a wonderful sense of humor and always enjoyed talking on the phone to all family members as long as they would listen. Thomas is survived by his dear wife Nancy, his loving children; Sharon Son (Tom Byars), and Andy Richards. The loving grandfather of Amber, Brendon, Seth, and Raven. Also surviving are his dear siblings, Patricia Moats, Linda (Rev. Jeff) VanDerWeele, and his beloved aunt Mary (John) Simpson.
