Thomas Ray Smith, age 61 of Shelby Township, died Friday, May 11, 2012 at Beaumont Hospital in Troy, Michigan.He was born on September 20, 1950 in Norwood, Ohio, son of Barbara (nee: Cupp), and the late Thomas Smith.With thanks & praise from a grateful nation, we pay homage to Thomas for his service to our country during the Vietnam War as a Seaman in the United States Navy. We honor him for the sacrifices made and the call to duty he answered in helping to preserve the cause of freedom.He was the beloved husband of the late Kathleen. Dearest son of Barbara, and the late Thomas Smith. Loving brother of Sharon (Terry) Brandon. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.Arrangements were entrusted to the D.S.
