Velda J. James, 82, died Monday, May 12, 2008. She was born July 24, 1925 in Detroit. Mrs James loved spending time with family and friends. Relatives said that Christ Lutheran Church was here second family. She is survived by her children, David (Barb), Linda (Michael) Grubb, Daniel (Lee), Patricia (Larry) DiCicco and Kenneth (Vanessa); sisters, Dorothy Barr, Theresa Fortune, Jean Frame and Kathy Garlick; 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, David Carlton James. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am. Thursday at Christ Lutheran Church, 12500 Canal Road, Sterling Heights, with the Rev. Barton L. Beebe officiating. Burial will take place at Cadillac Memorial Gardens East Cemetery, Clinton Township. Visitation is 5-9 pm. Tuesday and 2-9 pm. Wednesday at D.S. Temrowski and Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Road), Warren. Additional visitation is 10-11 am. Thursday at the church. Please share memories at Velda's guestbook.
