

Virginia Cecelia "Kelly" Gumela, age 86 of Warren, died Thursday, September 14, 2006 at Georgian Bloomfield Nursing Home in Bloomfield Township Michigan. Virginia was born November 16, 1919 in Wyandotte, Michigan the daughter of the late Stanislaus Kowalewski and the late Victoria (nee: Koralewski) Kowalewski. She is survived by her husband John. Dear sister of Edward Kowalewski, and the late Frances Figurski, Marion Potrzepka, Leonard Kowalewski, Stanley Kowalewski, Victor Kowalewski, Chester Kowalewski, Joseph Kowalewski, and Richard Kowalewski. She was the sister in-law of the late Alexander Gumela. Virginia is survived by many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Gumela was raised in Wyandotte, and graduated from Roosevelt High School. She worked for a short time before marrying Mr. John Gumela in 1954 at Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Wyandotte. Mr. and Mrs. Gumela lived in Warren for over 45 years. Mrs. Gumela was a retiree from the Ford Motor Dearborn Glass Plant where she worked for over 30 years and retired as a shipping inspector. Virginia and her husband loved to travel visiting such exotic locations as Mexico Hawaii, and taking cruises. She also loved to play bingo and visit the casinos. Visitation for Virginia will be Saturday from 5-9 pm, and Sunday from 1-9 pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 Mile). A Rosary Service will be held Sunday evening. Funeral services will begin Monday with Mrs. Gumela laying in state 10:30 am at St. Hyacinth Catholic Church, 3151 Farnsworth, Detroit, until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 am. Celebrating the funeral Mass will be Rev. Fr. Jarosz Iwan. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery Clinton Township, Michigan. Please share memories at her guest book.
