

Virginia Kay Kiely, age 76, died Friday, June 12, 2015 at her home in Troy, Michigan surrounded by her loving family. Virginia was born July 12, 1938 in Rose City, Michigan, daughter of the late Virgil Sanback and the late Violet (nee: Robinson) Sanback.Virginia was raised during her younger years in East Tawas, Michigan before her family eventually settled in Detroit. Virginia graduated from Cooley High School in Detroit and later met the love of her life, James Kiely, a handsome fellow from the neighborhood,...albeit a bit older. The two lovebirds married in 1956 and quickly started their family.The Kiely family lived in Detroit, and later in Madison Heights where they would raise their children before finally settling in Troy, Michigan. For over 30 years, Mrs. Kiely worked for the Sears & Roebuck Company at Oakland Mall before taking her well-deserved retirement. Her children believe their mother may just have cleaned every inch of that Sears store at Oakland Mall.When Mrs. Kiely was not working, her life revolved around her children, grandchildren, and family. She was constantly cooking and caring for any baby she could get her hands on. She loved all children, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Fun times away from home seemed to involve playing cards or going to the casinos. She shared a passion for gaming, and loved to give Ol' Lady Luck a run for her money every chance she got. Virginia Kiely was the beloved wife of the late James W. Kiely, and is the dear mother of Michael (Alison) Kiely, Daniel Kiely, Denise Riedy, Ann (Dave) Rudy, Christopher (Donna) Kiely, and James Kiely. Cherished grandmother of Joseph (Jennifer) Rudy, Jessica Kiely, Emily Riedy, Nicholas (Lacey) Rudy, Matthew Kiely, Stephen Riedy, Kyle Rudy, Amanda Kiely, Christopher Kiely, Patrick Riedy, Sean Rudy, and great-grandmother of Joseph and Lillian. Loving sister of Karen (Jerry) Furget, and Peggy Taube.Visitation for Mrs. Kiely will be held Monday, June 15th from 3-9pm, with a 7pm Vigil Service, at the D.S. Temrowski and Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Rd. at Common (12 l/2 mile) in Warren. Mrs. Kiely will lie in state on Tuesday from 9:30am until time of the Funeral Mass at 10:00 am at St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church in Madison Heights, Michigan. Celebrating the Funeral Liturgy will be Reverend Fr. John Esper. Interment will take place on Thursday, June 18th at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan where she will join her beloved, James.Please share memories of Mrs. Kiely at her memory book above.
