Wayne Ostrander

He was predeceased by his parents Lester and Ella Ostrander and his Brother Lester Ostrander II. He is survived by his wife Carol (Umscheid) Ostrander, his son Lester Ostrander III (Jamie), and two grandchildren Ella and Caleb.

Wayne was a decorated Major in the Airforce, serving from 1958 until 1966. During this time, he was recognized for his bravery with the National Defense Service Medal, the Air Medal, and the Air Force Commendation Medal. He was extremely proud of his time in the United States Air Force and the opportunity to serve his country.

In 1973 Wayne married his beloved wife, Carol. He worked for United Technologies as a corporate pilot until his retirement in 1999. In his retirement he became a wine and music enthusiast, often listening to music each evening with a glass of his favorite red wine. He loved taking pictures of Great Lakes ships and spent most summer days at their cottage on Harsens Island. Wayne was an avid collector of many items including books, crystal, and anything Great Lakes shipping related.

All are welcome at A.H. Peters Funeral Home of Warren, 32000 Schoenherr Road, for the visitation on Wednesday, May 3rd from 2pm- 8pm. Visitation Thursday, May 4th at 9:30am until time of funeral service at 10am at A.H. Peters Funeral Home of Warren.
