William "Doug" Douglas Rudd Sr.

William “Doug” Douglas Rudd Sr., passed away on September 12, 2025. Doug was born on July 2, 1952, to the late Guy and Doris Rudd. He was the beloved husband of 32 years to Kathy, loving father of William (Carmela) Rudd and Gail (Rick) Breece, and proud grandfather of Ryan Rudd, Jake Rudd, Chloe Breece, Isabelle Breece, and Ava Breece. He was preceded in death by his father, Guy Rudd, and his brother, David C. Rudd.

Doug proudly served his country in the United States Army and the United States National Guard. A dedicated member of his community, he belonged to the Fraternal Order of the Eagles for 33 years, the Knights of St. John for 45 years, the Oddfellows for 10 years, and the Alhambra for 10 years.

Family meant everything to Doug, and his greatest joy was being a grandfather. Holidays were especially dear to him, when he would gather his family together and cook his signature homemade eggs benedict. He had a lifelong love of animals, especially his dogs and cats, and enjoyed camping trips with family at the Michigan Eagle Family Recreation Center in Lake.

Doug also loved driving his truck, a 2022 Dodge Ram 2500, watching and attending sports—especially cheering on the Detroit Tigers, Red Wings, and Lions. For more than a decade, he was a proud Lions season ticket holder. He also found peace in his garden, tending to vegetables such as tomatoes, cucumbers, and even corn.

Doug will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, veteran, and friend who lived life with loyalty, laughter, and love.

A visitation for Doug will be held Wednesday, September 17, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Road, Warren, Michigan 48088.

In lieu of flowers, any donations made in his memory to NBS Animal Rescue at 35 West Square Lake Road, Troy, Michigan, 48098, would be deeply appreciated.
