He was born on September 12, 1961 in Westminster, Colorado, the son of the late Willard and the late Dorothy Wyatt. With thanks & praise from a grateful nation, we pay homage to William for his service to our country in the Persian Gulf theater of operations. As a soldier in the U.S. Army and the Army Reserve, William's distinguished service career was highlighted by a plethora of medals, ribbons and decorations that defined his patriotism and willingness to go beyond the call-to-duty. Having received numerous promotions throughout his military tenure, William's final achievement was that of Lieutenent Colonel. Upon graduation from the New Mexico Military Institute, William Bruce Wyatt was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenent. He was branched in the Ordinance Corps and completed the officer basic course at Fort Dix, New Jersey. From 1982 to his retirement from the U.S. Army Reserve in 2006, Bruce was "twice the citizen" by serving in various National Guard and U.S. Army Reserve units, as well as balancing employment within a number of Fortune 500 corporations. His military highlights also included, but were not limited to; Presidential call-up for Desert Storm / Desert Shield, Presidential call-up for Operation Enduring Freedom / Operation Iraqi Freedom - Headquarters Army Material Command, and was awarded the prestigious Samuel Sharpe Award from the U.S. Army Ordinance Center & School. William was also a graduate of Central Michigan University where he earned his Master's Degree in Business Administration. Bruce was employed as a Logistics Engineer and Cost Analyst for General Dynamics Land Systems located in Sterling Heights, Michigan. Additionally, he worked in various contracted assignments for other defense corporations and the automotive industry. When this man of many talents and strengths managed to find some time to himself, he would often be found immersed in one of his favorite pastimes of coin collecting. Bruce also found great enjoyment in the outdoors, especially when it came to fishing and hunting. A life gone far too soon, Bruce's legacy might well be described as a man with a very big heart! He was the beloved son of Willard Michael & Dorothy Mae (nee: Brown) Wyatt, and stepmother, Bernice May Atwood. Dear nephew of Gib (Renee) Peterson and cousin of Robert Peterson.
