Barbara Rocha

Barbara E. (Cavaca) Rocha, age 79, of Little Compton, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, January 2, 2021. She was the wife of the late Lawrence M. Rocha.

Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Mazelle (Almy) Cavaca. She was a longtime resident of Little Compton.

Barbara was a homemaker and enjoyed helping others. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and watching her birds. She enjoyed going out to eat and vacations to New Hampshire. She loved trips to the zoo and the beach with her children and grandchildren. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a loving Wife, Mother, Sister, Aunt and Friend. She was loved and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by three daughters, Lisa Roies and her husband James, Mazelle Wood, and Tammy Needham and her husband William; two sisters Cynthia Laliberte and her husband Dean and Diane Cavaca. She was blessed with many grandchildren, Katrina Roies, Jessica Wood, Justin Roies, Kendall Sallar, Malynda and Shannon Needham, Grace and Johnathan Camara, Brenden and Mathew Palmquist, and Aaron Souza; and three great grandchildren, Kaylee Martins, Logan Palmquist, and Lily Rose Souza; and many nieces and nephews. A niece Patricia Gonsalves and a loyal friend of many years Louise Durfee. Loving compassionate caretakers Marisa Sousa, Caroline Reece, and Mary Rezendes (earth angels) and Denise Wilkie and Margaret Tirpaeck from Stay at Home in Little Compton. She was the Mother of the late Lawrence M. Rocha II and the sister of the late Marilyn Arruda, Joanne Gonsalves, Frances, Joseph and Douglas Cavaca.

Private arrangements are under the care of Wilbur-Romano Funeral Home, Warren.

Sorry for your loss. Many fond memories of summer fun with her and the "big girls ". I babysat the younger ones. Losing a parent is hard. It gets better but the missing them never goes away. Thoughts and prayers.
