Devin was a sophomore at Barrington High School.
Besides her parents, she is loved and will be missed by her sister, Eladia Costello; maternal grandparents, William and Dorothy Riley; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Devin has decided to leave this world. To end the sadness that had taken hold of her in every way. I want you all to know that depression is a mental illness, it’s hard to understand and harder for the person it grabs ahold of. Devin was one of its latest victims. But I want you to know that Devin is not suicide. Devin is a beautiful, giving, loving, caring, empathetic soul. She looked at things like no one I have ever run across and was a fantastic artist and had a beautiful singing voice. She loved everyone and hurt no one. She loved her family, her amazing friends and her cats, Sully, Mini and Tink. She had a smile that puts out a thousand watts and a heart that could save the world. The world has lost a sweet, innocent child but you all have gained a guardian angel. For those who knew my girl, knew this already. For those who didn’t, you do now.
Visitation will be Tuesday, 4-7 PM. At the family’s request her funeral service and burial will be private. Donations may be made in her memory to The Fender Music Foundation, online at www.fendermusicfoundation.org.
