Frank “Buddy” Bettencourt Jr.

Of Florida and Warren passed away surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving husband of Mary (Arruda) Bettencourt to whom he was married to for 27 years. Born in Bristol he was the son of the late Frank Sr. and Emily (Sousa). Frank worked in the shipping department at Magnetic Seal.

He was an avid golfer and bowler and a member of the Kingsmen and Ocean State Drum and Bugle Corp. He was an avid Boston Red Sox Fan and while in Florida he was a fan of the Tampa Bay Ray’s. Most of all Frank loved his family.

Besides his wife he is survived by three sons Frank “Buddy” Bettencourt III of Riverside, Edward Raposa of Warren and David Raposa of Bristol. Four daughters Susan Guadalupe and Sandrea Speroni of Bristol, Brenda Coffey of Warren and Vivian Macedo of New Hampshire. He had thirteen grandchildren Cory Bettencourt, Amy Lynn, Tracey, Derek, Edward, Cassandra, Ashlee, Courtnee, Andrew, Justine, Sabato, Jason and Jaime. He also had 8 great grandchildren.

He was the brother of the late Evelyn Amaral, and Loretta Estrella. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday January 29, 2011 at 10 am in St. Mary’s Church 330 Wood Street Bristol RI. Arrangements by WILBUR-ROMANO Funeral Home. For online guestbook visit

Dear Mary, Alan and I are so sorry for your lost, I remenber so long ago when you were getting married. Buddy was one of the greatest guys we have ever met.
