Gerald D. O’Donnell, affectionately known as "Jerry," age 80, a lifelong resident of Warren, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2026, at the residence of his beloved granddaughter. He was the husband of Carol M. (Parente) O’Donnell, with whom he spent 60 wonderful years.
Born in Providence, Jerry was the cherished son of the late Harvey and Beatrice (Kozoka) O’Donnell. He dedicated many years to his work as a quahogger and fisherman, where he found joy in the sea and its bounty.
A proud member of the Warren Fire Department, VFW, and the German Club, Jerry had a passion for racing pigeons and gardening. He spent countless hours nurturing his beautiful garden, which reflected his love for nature, and he relished every moment spent by the water.
Jerry's family was his greatest treasure. He is survived by his loving daughter, Cynthia O’Donnell of Warren; three granddaughters who held a special place in his heart—Alisha O’Donnell and her wife Lynn of Pawtucket, Melissa O’Donnell of East Providence, and Christina O’Donnell and her fiancé Evan Blackledge of Riverside; and his adored great-grandson, Benjamin Mott of Riverside, who brought him immense joy in his later years. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly.
He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Jerilyn O’Donnell, and his siblings: James, Robert, Patricia, Jeanette, Donald, Harvey, Thomas, Armand, David, and Richard.
A visitation to celebrate Jerry’s life will be held on Monday, July 27, 2026 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Wilbur-Romano Funeral Home, 615 Main St., Warren. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend. Burial will be private.
