Henry A. Smith Jr.

Henry Adelard Smith, Jr. 84, of Port St. Lucie, FL and formerly of Warren died Monday in Jensen Beach, FL. He was the husband of Josephine A. (Scolaro) Smith to whom he had been married for over 63 years.

Born in Warren, he was the son of the late Henry A. and Catherine (Vida) Smith and had lived in Warren until retiring to Florida. He was a maintenance man for the Warren School Department for over 10 years, retiring in 1990.

Henry was a US Navy veteran of WWII.

He is survived by four sons and three daughters-in-law and six daughters and three sons-in-laws Joseph H. and Pat Smith of South Attleboro, MA, Kathleen and Hank Myers of Portsmouth, Richard C. and Georganne Smith of Swansea, MA, Joann Smith of Port St. Lucie, FL, Carol and Steve Leigh of Hobe Sound, FL, John J. and Deborah Smith of Rehoboth, MA, Donna M. Smith of Warren, Kenneth C. Smith of Warren, Christine Perreira of Stuart, FL, Laurie and Douglas Dion of North Smithfield, twenty-seven grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.

The funeral will be held on Saturday at 9 AM from the Wilbur-Romano Funeral Home, 615 Main Street, Warren with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Mary of the Bay Church, 645 Main Street, Warren. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Mary of the Bay Cemetery, Vernon St., Warren. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to The Alzheimer Foundation of America in Henry’s name. I always called him Uncle Smitty. On Saturdays I would help him deliver milk in Bristol. He and my dad both worked for Buttonwood Dairy. I'm so sorry for your loss and I am sorry that I did'nt keep in touch with him all of these years. He was a great guy from the greatest generation.
