OBITUARY

Joseph Quintal

November 24, 1921February 24, 2020

Joseph Quintal, age 98, of Bristol, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2020 at the RI Veterans Home.

He was the husband of the late Nicoletta (Castigliego) Quintal for 66 years.

Born in Bristol, he was the son of the late John and Mary (Camara) Quintal.

Joseph worked for the Converse Rubber Outlet for 47 years before his retirement in 1983.

He was an avid New York Yankees and New England Patriots fan. Joe also enjoyed gardening, golfing, he was a champion bowler and especially loved making homemade wine with his father and brothers for many years.

Joe was also selected to participate in the “Honor Flight” in October 2017 in Washington, DC and was always proud to talk of his military assignments and duties.

He is survived by his children, Joseph Quintal, Jr. and his wife Sherry of The Villages, FL; John Quintal and his wife Patty Travers of Warren; Nancy Flynn and her husband Robert of Swansea; Joann Robin and her husband Ben of Palm City, FL; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and his sisters, Dorothy Greenwood of Warren and Carrie Guido of Bristol and many nieces and nephews. Joseph was predeceased by his brothers, John, Anthony and Manuel Quintal and sister, Mary Doris.

His Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 10:00 AM in the Rhode Island Veterans Home, 480 Metacom Ave., Bristol. The funeral is now in the main entrance of the home. Burial will be private.

So sorry for the loss of Joe.My condolences go out to the family during this difficult time. He was a very sweet ,quiet guy . It was a pleasure to have him with us at the Vets Home over the past years .He was loved by all of us and will be sadly missed by many. RIP Joe,til you all meet again one day .
