Lois Amy Brown Ferrazzano, a beloved matriarch, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. Born on September 2, 1927, on a family farm in North Attleboro to Grace Elizabeth Muzzy and Waterman Farnum Brown, Lois was the youngest of four siblings—Waterman F. Brown, Richard Brown, and Ruth Delaney—and carried with her a proud heritage that traced back to Rhode Island's founding fathers, Chaddus Brown and Roger Williams.
Lois had a wonderful zest for life. She could often be found on her sun porch, eager to hear a good story or share one of her own, or quietly savoring every word of the Providence Journal, the newspaper where she devoted 37 vibrant years and met the love of her life, her husband Frank. Together, they filled their home in Warren, Rhode Island with friends, family, and good memories.
An accomplished equestrian and fearless show jumper, Lois was as rugged as she was graceful. She was the best pet sitter, and loved your dogs like they were her own. At the top of her list was her horse Sam and her whip smart poodle, Charlie.
Lois gave her time generously as a volunteer at Saint Mark’s Church in Barrington, and was an avid collector of vintage treasures, always finding beauty in the stories of the past.
She was adored by many nieces, nephews, and grandchildren who cherished their visits with her in Rhode Island—drawn by the deep devotion she showed them. Her legacy lives on in the bonds she nurtured and the laughter she inspired.
A celebration of Lois’s life will be held later this fall, where family and friends will gather to share memories and honor her indomitable spirit. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Saint Mark’s Church or a charity of your choice.
