Manuel Andrade, age 84, of Bristol, passed away Monday, June 13, 2022 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Teodorina A. (Cabral) Andrade, with whom he shared 59 years of marriage.
Born in Madalena, Pico, Azores, Portugal, he was the son of the late Flaminio G. and Ermelinda (Marcos) Andrade. Manuel and his family immigrated to the United States, settling in Bristol, Rhode Island, but he always enjoyed spending every other summer in the Azores.
Mr. Andrade worked as a Police Officer while in the Azores and was a Machinist in the US for many years before retiring. In addition to his love of travel, he loved music and playing instruments. He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth’s Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by: one son, Paul Renato Andrade and his wife Lina of Warren; two daughters, Madalena Andrade DeOliveira and her husband Ken of Warren and Carla Andrade Parente and her husband Tony of Bristol; one sister Manuela Cabral; one brother, Jose Andrade, eight grandchildren, Alisha DeLemos and her husband Jonathan, Jessica Andrade, Jeremy DeOliveira, Karina DeOliveira, Riley DeOliveira, Danielle Parente, Olivia Parente and Chad Parente; three great-grandchildren, Tristen DeLemos, Emerson DeLemos and Brooklynn DeOliveira and many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Jorge, Renata and Fatima Andrade and brother of the late Flaminio and Tomas Andrade.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, June 24, 2022 at 11:00 AM in St. Elizabeth’s Church, 577 Wood St., Bristol. Contributions in his honor may be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation, 20 Hemingway Dr., E. Providence, RI 02915. Burial private.
