

Born in Sao Miguel, Azores she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Rosalina (Roias) Arruda. Most recently from Warren, she was formerly of New Port Richey, FL and Bristol.
Mrs. Bettencourt was a waitress at several local establishments for 30 years before retiring in 1988. A Red Sox enthusiast, she also enjoyed a Ray’s game while living in Florida. She also enjoyed reading and taking care of her family.
She is survived by her six children, Susan Guadalupe of Bristol, Sandrea Speroni of Warren, Brenda Coffey of Warren, Vivian Macedo of New Hampshire, Edward Raposa of Warren and David Raposa of Bristol; one brother, Manuel P. Arruda; a niece, Kristine Snow; fifteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 10 AM in St. Mary’s Church, 333 Wood St., Bristol. Burial will be private.
