Norma I. McDonald

Born in Providence a daughter of the late William and Elanor (Paquin) Horridge she was a longtime resident of Warren before relocating to Wakefield. She enjoyed 25 winters in Naples, FL.

A graduate of Central High School, Class of 1953 she went on to work as a Bank Teller for Hospital Trust for over 20 years. Active in her community, she was elected Town Treasurer of Warren from 1984 – 1990.

A skilled baker, she enjoyed making her famous banana breads and coffee cake for her friends and family. Always the life of a party, she was a cherished storyteller and had a witty sense of humor. She and her husband Bob enjoyed many cruises together and were active in politics in their town of Warren, RI. In the last years of her life, she became a prolific potter creating many treasured wares for her family.

She is survived by one daughter, Kyle McDonald and her husband James Stolaroff of Richmond; one son, John McDonald and his partner Lee Marie Scorobogaty of Bristol; two brothers, George and Ray Horridge; three grandchildren, Eric McDonald and his fiancée Sara Habib Allah, Courtney McDonald and her fiancé Oberon Redman and Ellis Stolaroff; niece, Cheryl Latos and many other cherished nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Joan Latos and Bill Horridge and aunt of the late Diane DePalm.

Her Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 24, 2022 at 9:00 AM from the Wilbur-Romano Funeral Home, 615 Main Street, Warren followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Mary of the Bay Parish, 645 Main Street, Warren. Relatives and friends are invited. Burial will be in St. Mary of the Bay Cemetery, Warren. Visiting hours are Thursday from 4:00 – 7:00 PM.
