Born at St Anne's Hospital in Fall River MA, raised in Bristol, RI he was the son of Angela (Cabral) Amaral Mourato and the late Richard M. Amaral.
A hard worker, and licensed through New England Tractor Trailor Training School, Richard was a truck driver delivering oxygen, Senior Technician and Supervisor for many years for Lincare. Most recently, he was a Maintenance Technician for the Aquidneck Assisted Living place in Portsmouth, RI.
A sports enthusiast he enjoyed watching the Giants and coaching for his son’s Warren Pop Warner football team. With a great sense of humor, he loved to be with his friends and family and make them laugh. He lived as an example of how to treat others, was a man of faith, loved a good cup of coffee and especially adored his family.
In addition to his mother and wife, he is survived by one daughter, Laura Amaral; one son, Richard Amaral; three brothers, Robert Amaral and Manny and Jay Mourato; many nieces and nephews and several close friends.
His visitation will be held on Monday, June 28, 2021 from 4 to 7pm in the Wilbur-Romano Funeral Home, 615 Main Street, Warren. Relatives and friends invited. His funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at 10am at St. Mary of the Bay Parish, 645 Main Street, Warren, RI. Contributions in his honor may be made to East Bay Warriors, Cole School Rd., Warren, RI 02885. Burial in North Burial Ground, Bristol, RI.
