Violet Primiano

Violet Primiano (Lamarca), age 91, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Hope Hospice & Palliative Care of RI surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of Alfred J. Primiano to whom she was married 68 years.

Born in Providence a daughter of the late Guiseppie and Margaret (Coppolo) Lamarca she was a longtime resident of Warren.

A graduate of the RI Academy of Hairdressing, she was a successful hairdresser for many years. A manager for Old Ironsides Restaurant she became their head chef and also owned and operated V.I.P. Liquors in Warren from 1978 to 1984.

Skilled in the kitchen she was an excellent cook and baker, she enjoyed playing Bingo but most of all, spending time with her family.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Marianne Bouchard; son, Dwight D. Primiano and his wife Sueyoung Park-Primiano; sisters, Pauline Noble and Julia Vargas; granddaughters, Alexis and Jenna Bouchard and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Joseph Lamarca, Nino Lamarca, Stella Iannielli and Mary Vitale.

Her Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 26, 2018 at 8:30 AM from the Wilbur-Romano Funeral Home, 615 Main Street, Warren with a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM in St. Alexander’s Church, 221 Main Street, Warren. Her visitation is from 8:30 – 10:30 AM prior to the service. Burial will be private.

I knew Violet Primiano only through my long-time friendship with her son Dwight and daughter-in-law Sueyoung. And I did have her wonderful Christmas cookies. Dwight told many stories of his mother and her kindness and generosity. My condolences to her family
