Dear Dr. Al, Sr.--
We never met, but our lives intersected briefly.  May God's love embrace you joyfully into heaven and tenderly comfort your family on earth, especially Al, Jr. & Mimi whom I hope to see again on another flight to Paris.
Dear Al, Jr.--With father's day approaching, I am reminded of how fondly you spoke of your father:  the good example he was.  Please know you and Mimi have been in my thoughts and prayers.

  When I began my practice in Dermatology in the 1980's, I came to learn that Al Fleury was the absolute standard to which all plastic surgery was measured.  In addition to his unmatched technical skill, he was soft spoken and gentle with all his patients.   This kindness was extended to my very "uncooperative" 3 year old daughter Michelle, who he cared for on a Sunday  evening in the ER after she cut her forehead on the furniture.  
   He will be sorely missed!

Dearest Fleury Family
I only can imagine what a magnificent man he must have been by his magnificent son that has been my Doctor for years.....Dr. Albert Fleury, Jr.......I send heartfelt condolences and very much love to the family.

I never knew the Al Fleury whose father managed the St. Mary's Hotel in Leonardtown, who spent his summers as a child sailing his boat on Breton Bay, who spent his honeymoon "at camp", who was a navy doctor, who was a plastic surgeon, and who bought "camp" with his brother in the 1950s, flipped a coin for the best building site and lost. I did know the Al Fleury who spent more time working on his sailboat than I ever saw him sailing, who hauled the new mast for his boat tied to the top of his car from Florida, who never went to the doctor till he was 70, who would talk about "camp" like it was  state park, whose grandfather fought in the Civil War, who never threw anything out and who was one of my very good friends.

Dear Alice,
I am truly saddened to learn of Al's passing.  I will miss listening to Al explain why he arrived at St Francis Xavier Church an hour early for mass one day or other stories as only he could tell.  It was always a pleasure to greet both of you at church.  He will be missed.

I was seven years old when I ran across a street in Hyattsville to see my friend.  I never made it to the other side because a Metro Bus slammed into me and forever changed my life.  Dr. Fleury worked with me and my family for a decade at Suburban Hospital.  My parents--both deceased now--would say his skill and expertise resulted in an excellent outcome.  I can say--at age 59--that his compassion and gentle nature made his name instantly memorable to me.  I cried when I saw it again in the obit page yesterday. He was a wonderful doctor and a very compassionate friend when I was so in need.  I will always be thankful for his presence in my life.  God bless Dr. Fleury

Aunt Alice and family,
There are so many memories of Uncle Al but the one that came to mind first was his laugh. He readily shared it with any family story, or watching movies of "Charlie Chaplin" and "Laurel and Hardy." His kind generous soul will be missed by many. I will keep all of you in my prayers and thoughts.

I was a patient of Dr.Fleury. I was born with a cleft palate and cleft lip and he performed most of my surgeries until he retired. I remember his quiet demeanor and he was an awesome surgeon. I owe him so much and certainly could never thank him enough.  My condolences to the entire Fleury family. He was a wonderful man and he will be missed by many.

Norm and I were sadden to learn of Doctor Fleury's passing.  I feel very  privleged to have been able to work for Doctor Fleury in the early 60's.  I learned a great deal from a very highly respected and talented plastic surgeon and have many fond memories of my years in his office.  We both regret not being able to visit with you in the past years.  Our very best to your lovely wife and family.  You are in our thoughts and prayers.

I loved having him as my surgeon.  I was born with a bilateral cleft lip and palate 43 yrs ago and I can still remember seeing him in his office and how good he was to me.  Doctors now still say how good my cleft looks and that is because of him.  RIP

Dr. Fleury was a great surgeon and a kind and gentle man. His smile could light up any room. He will be greatly missed.

It is with great sadness that I learned of Dr. Fleury's passing. I was told that I was one of his very first patience in 1957. I was born with a cleft palate and bilateral cleft lip. My parents worked two jobs to pay for my care and know that Dr. Fleury was very generous with his time in helping me and them. My parents always sang his praises with great reverence. I am now a scientist and have two children that have recently graduated from college and a lovely wife.

Thank you Dr. Fleury for all you did for me.
