Sept 19, 1929 - Sep 28, 2018 from Washington D.C.
She died peacefully in Punta Gorda FL, surrounded by her adoring family.
We were blessed to learn many valuable lessons from Angie during her 89 years, among them: Never throw away anything, collect ceramic elephants, buy Joan Rivers jewelry, watch QVC, listen to Edelweiss and The Sound of Music consistently, laugh at yourself, and most of all love unconditionally. Our mom and “YiaYia”, daughter of the the late Alexandra Glekas, an icon at St Sophia Greek Orthodox church, and sister of Louis Glekas DDS, was a nurse who raised four young children singlehandedly with nothing, but now has everything. She is survived by her 4 children: Debora Blanch, Terrie Austin (Joe), John Wright (Christine), and Robert Wright (Jeannine); 8 Grandchildren: Nick Blanch (Amanda), Christy Wright, Devin Wright, John Wright, Alexandra Wright, Angela Blanch, Katherine Wright, and Jennifer Wright. Visitation is at Gawler’s Funeral Home Friday October 12 from 5-8pm, Celebration of her life Saturday October 13, 10am at Gawler’s 5130 Wisconsin Ave NW, Washington DC.
