To the entire Recachinas Family. It was a sad day when I heard of Keria Antigone's passing. To me she was a very special person who was a great part of our Saint Constantine and Helen Community for so many years. There are so many fond memories. My late parents respected her and my late mom worked with her side by side for many many years in the Philoptochos, my late mother-in-law and husband always regarded her as a very special Patriotissa and my kids always called her "yiayia" out of love and respect. We will always remember her and also pray that the family also heals through her wonderful memories. The Kalapothakos Family

Dear Andrew,George,Christina and your families. I was deeply saddened by the loss of your mother.  I can't help but remember all of the wonderful times and memories from growing up at church. Your mother was always very special to me from the time I was a young child.   Her wonderful and kind smile  will always be what I will mostly remember..  It was a few years ago the last   saw her. She was with Christina and my sister Helen and I had stopped at Panera's and there were the two of them  eating.   Just like always she held our faces with her hands and kissed us. I will ways hold on to this memory.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Koumbara Antigone.  What a great lady!  We loved her dearly and our children adored her.  Her community will always remember her for her selfless contributions and her cheerful attitude.  She was a great role model to all of us.  May her memory be eternal.

The passing of Kiria (Mrs) Antigone marks another end to the marvelous 
era of the strong Greek matriarch that built and sustained our Greek Orthodox
community for decades. The years with all of you at Sts. Constantine and Helen in Washington, DC are among the most cherished of memories.

Once, when I was a fully grown adult, Antigone braced me at a function, "Mas xefiges", (you've abandoned/escaped us), she gently scolded. 

I assured her that my membership at another Greek Orthodox community was a "development" not an abandonment, but her sense of matriarchy, community loyalty, teamwork and love of the flock that she helped tend to so well for so m,any years kept her from having any of my excuses.
