Cathy Elizabeth Kaznoff was born on Valentines Day 1936 to Joseph and Helen Takacs in Danville Il. She began her career as a pediatric nurse in Fort Worth Texas before joining the Air Force. After being medically retired in 1978 she was reacquainted with the love of her life Alexis and they were married in San Francisco in 1980.
Cathy continued her service to friends and country through various volunteer organizations, and became the unofficial welcome wagon for their neighborhood after moving to Burke Va. She was always the first to greet new neighbors with a smile and a pot of her famous soup.
A funeral service will be held at Saint Nicholas Orthodox Cathedral, 3500 Massachusetts Ave NW, Washington, DC 20007, US, on August 6, 2026, from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm.
Cathy will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery with her love Alexis.
Her final wish was that people donate to their favorite charity in lieu of flowers.
