What a wonderful friend you have been to Ilse and I my Brother.  May the Lord look after Ruth and Mary and Charlie, we will always be there for them.

Bro. Charlie, you served God, Family, Country, and Lodge well my Brother. You taught many the proper way to use the working tools of the craft. May the GAOTU bless and keep you.

May our working tools --no more needed where Bro. Charles rests now-- help us to walk in his footsteps!

This is a time of transition.  You have laid down the working tools of this physical existence.  You're traveling to that house not built with human hands.

Those remaining here on earth, your family- military comrades- and your fraternal brothers, all realize that they and America have lost an outstanding individual.  You have always exemplified the traditional values of correctness, patriotism, duty, generosity, and had volunteered for so many projects.

Speaking on behalf of many of the younger brothers from the Heidelberg Masonic Lodge, you were one of the examples that we could always count on for calm, rational advice.  Often, a man does not get enough of the "atta a boy" feedbacks and pats on the back that he deserves.  It's never too late to say thank you.

Hopefully, the guidance and mindset that you are presented will continue and possibly expand in the consciousness of everybody you had contact with.

Looking forward to sitting next to you in the next Grand Lodge.
