Trini, Mary, Armando, Tini, Elena, Alejandro, Liliana,
I want to express my deepest condolences for the loss of Nina.
I met her in 1978 at her house when she and her mother invited me and my mother to a terrific lunch. In that only day I learned of her expansive heart and soul: I loved her music (La nueva trova cubana), I loved her interest in exploring the world as she was about to embark to visit the Rockies and we even had time to talk about books she loved. She was kind to me even though I was barely 14. She was kind to my mother. She was kind to everyone I know that met her.
I will try to be kinder with all as a way to remember her and keep her spirit alive in this world. I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to share this part of my life with her.

I met Elena at the World Bank when I lived in the United States. She was my boss there, and I can tell that she was the best boss I have ever had. She was the ideal boss, one that was always available for everybody , helping everybody and defending her employees in the first place. She was also a friend for me and one of the best persons that I have met in my life. I thank God for that. She will be in my heart for ever .
To her relatives, and toTrinidad Hernandez, her best friend, my condolences. All of you were Elena's beloved treasure. God bless you and give you consolation.
From Buenos Aires, I will be beside you on August 6th, through my prayer and my heart.
