Of Washington DC, on September 12, 2015 after a short illness. Beginning her life in New York City, moving to Greenwich, CT, Harper’s Ferry, WV, and on to Washington, DC, Elizabeth was a dedicated and intrepid reporter for the Northwest Current newspaper. She was an avid fan of her son’s sports teams, a traveler, sailor, jigsaw puzzle specialist, sister, mother, wife and friend.
Survived by her best friend and husband, Lloyd Leonard; chosen son, Max Leonard; siblings, Larry (Margaret) Wiener, Consuelo Reyes and Bobbin (Peter) Corey; sister-in-law Katie (Hank) Dorst, other relatives, colleagues and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Lawrence Wiener and Barbara Milltonberger.
A Service will be held on Friday, September 18, 2015 at 2 PM in the Joseph E Hagan Memorial Chapel at Joseph Gawler’s Sons. 5130 Wisconsin Ave NW, Washington DC (corner of Harrison St) Interment private. As Elizabeth would say, “Guess who died in the newspaper today?” Memorial gifts may go to Casey Trees.
