I was checking Mrs. Fredickson address to write to her. At one point I was busy with her and studies, we did not see each other 

She had sent me the information when Dr. Fredickson died and I went to the memorial at the NIH,  I lived with the Fredicksons for almost two years in the late 70s; finding out  her obituary is a shock to me and feel very sad.

Madame Fredrickson will always hold a special place in my heart.  She became a very special friend when my husband had surgery about 12 years ago.  Her son, Rurik, worked with my husband that was the initial connection.  She felt compelled to supply not only emotional & spiritual support but to provide goodies & stories every week during his recovery.  We became fast friends, meeting only once at her husband's memorial service.  However we became pen pals & phone buddies over these many years.  When my Mother took ill & passed away in 2008, Madame was there.  Notes & small gifts came my way and to my family.  I will always cherish her love & friendship.  My thoughts & prayers go out to Rurik & Eric and her extended family.  She will be missed….truly.

Madame Fredrickson was a friend to my sister and brother in law (who works at NIH).  Although I never personally met Madame, we developed a close pen pal relationship, exchanging letters (always handwritten!) on holidays.  I have several beautiful scarves that Madame sent me.  She referred to them as "an embrace from Paris."  I will always treasure them and the dear woman that I came to know fondly as, "Madame."
