He was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin to Leonard and Peggy (McInnis) Gearan. After having lived all over the world, he chose to reside in NW Washington, DC for the past ten years.
He is survived by his wife, Susan (Tomlinson) Gearan, his brother, Tim and Anne(Rumsey) Gearan of NW Washington, DC and his sisters, Jane Gearan Mueller of Fall Creek, WI and Ann Gearan Leslie of Houston, TX. He is also survived by his beloved nieces and nephews, Claire Gearan and Meg, Peter and Steven Mueller, his Gearan and McInnis cousins and countless friends in Arizona, California and Washington, DC.
His wife will take his remains to his cherished Southern California Coast at a later date.
