My deepest sympathies on the passing of Mr. Pappas.  We never lose the people we love, even to death.  They continue to participate in every act, thought and decision we make.  Their love leaves an indelible imprint in our memories.  We find comfort in knowing that our lives have been enriched by having shared their love.

To the family of John T. Pappas.
We knew your father from a distance.   Although we are not related in family we have been in faith.  He was our spiritual Godfather.  As young children my brother and I were awed by the tag “Godfather”.  It meant so much to us and we felt so special having John and his wife Adrienne represent themselves as our Godparents they day we were baptized into the Catholic faith.   Our Uncle John Charuhas saw to it that we would gather to reunite with Mr. Pappas on many occasions throughout the years and these times meant so much to us.   A man for the ages and it is my honor to have known him.

How well I remember the years of friendship and banking relationship with Mr. John "T".  I shall never forget how supportive this great gentleman was as I launched my career in banking.  I have very fond memories of Mr. Pappas, Mr. Auger, Mr. Antonelli & Mr. Puglisi as good friends and great supporters of my efforts in banking.  I will miss Mr. John T Papppas (the Gentleman's Gentleman) very much.  My prayers are with Ted, Carol and all the family. Love Reggie Johnson

We met John T. shortly after arriving in the DC area from Western Canada in 1990. No one made us feel more welcome than he did, he shared his vast knowledge of the city, and it's citizens in a way no one else could. We loved and admired him, and will miss him as we would family. The best heartfelt words you can say about a man like John T is that he was an example for us all.  The quick wit, the sharp mind, and the positive outlook all made being in his company a genuine pleasure and we will never forget those great times we had with him.
