Always looked up to him. A man of great stature and of greater principles.  A man of character for sure! Was a great example to all that played for him and came in contact with his infectious energy. 
      Condolences to all family and all that loved and worked with him.

Jay,  As your roomate for four years we shared a great deal at PC.  We learned from each other both on and off the court.  Our double dates in DC with Gwen and my wife gave me an insight into what it was to be black and live in this country.  You and I endured the scuffles (fights) that seemed to follow us around at URI,Brown and even Georgetown at the old gym.  Miss you ,Big Boy.  Save a place for me.

Heartfelt condolences to the entire Thompson family.  I was born and raised in Anacostia and attended Archbishop Carroll. Met coach Thompson when he was at St. Anthony’s. I revered him then as now. He and George Leftwich had an instrumental impact on my life. I owe them each more than I can ever repay. There will never be another John Thompson in my life, but having the One is more than I deserved. Rest In Peace. 

He will be missed he was closed cousin I always looking at him on TV coaching  the players very good person my condolences to family
