Kathleen Paasch Hunter

November 7, 1938November 5, 2018

Passed away peacefully at home in Washington, DC, on November 5, 2018, just two days before her 80th birthday. Born November 7, 1938, in Kenosha, Wisconsin, to Arnold Paasch and Clare Armstrong Paasch, she is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, John S. Hunter, her brother Kenneth Paasch, daughters Janice Sessions and Kelly Hardin, sons Charles Hunter and Michael Hunter, grandchildren Stephen Hunter, Jennifer Krumwiede, Ana Andrews, Stephanie Speegle, and Benjamin Sessions, and great-grandchildren Madison Pederson, Oliver Walker, and Daisy Walker. She also leaves behind many extended family and friends.

"Kathy" loved raising children. She read widely in literature and history and had a keen interest in current political affairs. She greatly enjoyed the Great American Songbook -- its music, history, personalities, and sophisticated lyrics. She took very special joy in the beauty, innocence, curiosity and expressions of all babies and toddlers, which led to her acquiring the honorable name "Nana."

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, November 17, 2018, at St. Ann Catholic Church, 4001 Yuma Street NW, Washington DC, at 11:00am. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to WAMU 88.5 FM, American University, PO Box 98101, Washington DC 20090-8101.

Dear Uncle Jack, Mike, Charlie, Janice & Kelly: I share in your sorrow. And I can never thank you enough for giving us the opportunity to spend a weekend with Aunt and for making us so welcome. It was a beautiful experience, one I’ll always remember. Love, Kathy.
