Kay died May 17, 2013 at age 72. Surviving are her husband of 47 years, two daughters, three grandchildren, and a sister. Kay was from Seaford, Delaware. Her horizons opened at 16 as an AFS exchange student to France. She returned with a lifelong love of travel, good food and wine, which she enjoyed sharing with family and the many friends who enriched her life. Kay began singing while at University of Delaware. She was a fine soprano, singing with the church choir up to the end. She volunteered often at church, and for many community groups.
Services will be at Chevy Chase United Methodist Church, 7001 Connecticut Ave, at 11 AM Saturday June 1, with a reception in the church building following the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Memorial Fund for Music at CCUMC in memory of Kay Efron.
