Kearsley “Kim“ Briggs passed away on October 4, 2017 at 70 years of age, from complications of Alzheimer’s disease. A native of Falls Church, Virginia, she attended Wheaton College in Massachusetts. After graduating, she returned to the DC area living in Georgetown and later Alexandria, VA. Prior to becoming a free-lance technical editor for many years, she worked on Capitol Hill and with the Peace Corps. She was predeceased by her parents, Kate Brice Briggs and Fitch Monroe Briggs, as well as her brother J. Kirk Briggs. She is survived by her sister-in-law, M. Louise Briggs, of Cambridge, MA, and many caring friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria, where Kim was an avid volunteer. A memorial will be held at Gawler's Funeral Home, 5130 Wisconsin Avenue NW, Sunday, November 5 at 4 PM.
