

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Larry Daniel Wilborn, a devoted husband and father, who left us suddenly due to a pulmonary embolism on October 22, 2024, at the age of 57. Born on August 19, 1967 and raised in Maryland, Larry exemplified strength, dedication, and a zest for life.
A graduate of Thomas Stone High School in Waldorf, Maryland and proud former Marine corporal, Larry Wilborn served his country with honor before transitioning to a distinguished career with the Prince George’s County SWAT team, where his bravery and commitment to protecting others shone brightly. After retiring, he channeled his entrepreneurial spirit while living in Honolulu, HI and in Washington, D.C., always seeking new challenges and adventures.
Beyond his professional achievements, Larry was a cherished family man. He found joy in frequently traveling with his loved ones, sharing laughter, and creating lasting memories. His infectious sense of humor and playful nature brought warmth to all who knew him.
In addition to numerous relatives and loved ones, Larry Wilborn is survived by his beloved wife, Cynthia Gibbs, and his children, Garrett Wilborn, Lottiana, Evienne, and Tyler; as well as his brothers, Derek Wilborn (Shayna) and Jahi Aziz. Larry was predeceased by his parents Gladys and John Wilborn. He will be remembered for his unwavering love, guidance, and the countless ways he enriched the lives of those around him.
A celebration of Larry Wilborn’s life will be held on November 14, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Washington National Cathedral. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of his name to Beauvoir, the National Cathedral Elementary School.
Rest in peace, Larry. Your legacy of love and laughter will forever remain in our hearts.
