

Manuel Tanseco of Washington, DC, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 24, 2025, at the age of 93. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Susan; his daughter, Suzette; his sons, Carlo and Francis; his son-in-law, Angelo; his daughter-in-law, Patricia; and his six grandchildren: Marcus, CJ, Chloe, Cydney, and the twins Ian and Irvin. He also leaves behind numerous nephews and nieces and their families residing in Maryland, New Jersey, Virginia, California, Canada, and the Philippines.
Affectionately known as “Noly” by close friends and relatives, he was born on August 3, 1932 in Catbalogan, Samar, in the Philippines. He spent most of his life in Manila and Quezon City before emigrating to the United States in 1994 after retiring as a Division Chief at one of the largest government financial institutions in the Philippines. To stay engaged during his retirement, he began working part-time as a newspaper carrier for the New York Times in the Washington, D.C. area. He later obtained a regular position as a concierge with Archstone Smith, a company that manages several large apartment complexes. In this role, he found joy in helping residents and earning their trust. He has fully retired after more than a decade of dedicated service with Archstone.
His cremated remains will stay at Joseph Gawlers Funeral Home located on Wisconsin Ave., NW, Washington DC. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025 from 11:00 AM, with a reception to follow. His inurnment will be held on Monday, December 22nd at the Gate of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, Silver Spring, Maryland.
