On Friday, December 8th, 2017 Mary Lou Mayhew of Chevy Chase, Maryland. Loving wife of Donald McLane Mayhew for 61 years; mother of Mary Mayhew (John Juenemann), Paul M. Mayhew, Michael A. Mayhew, Beth Ann (Daniel) Mowrey, Donald N. (Erika) Mayhew, and Catherine (Jim) Kuhn; grandmother of 22 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Mary Lou grew up in Pontiac, Michigan and graduated from the University of Michigan with a BS in Social Work. She worked tirelessly throughout her life in support of human rights. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be dearly missed. A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 17 from 1pm to 2:30pm, and a celebration of her life will be held from 3pm to 4pm at Joseph Gawler’s Sons LLC 5130 Wisconsin Avenue NW Washington DC 20016.
