Mary "Molly" Dodge McReynolds Rolandi

Born on August 11, 1952, to Doris Hamilton Gil, Molly spent her life deeply connected to the D.C. area. She graduated from the National Cathedral School in 1970, briefly attended Hollins College, and earned her degree from Georgetown University in 1974.

In 1978, Molly married Frederick "Rick" Sereno Rolandi, beginning 48 devoted years of marriage. They were wed at the Church of the Epiphany - a meaningful continuation of family history, as her great-grandparents married in the very same sanctuary in 1860.

A dynamic businesswoman, philanthropist, and arts advocate, Molly was deeply committed to enriching Washington's cultural and civic life. Her passion for the arts was exemplified by her extensive leadership at the Corcoran Gallery of Art, where she served on the Board of Trustees and held numerous leadership roles on the Corcoran Women’s Committee after joining in 2005. Together, Molly and Rick were steadfast champions of D.C.’s artistic institutions and emerging local talent, supporting Hillwood, the National Gallery of Art, Choral Arts, and The Phillips Collection. She was also a valued member of The Sulgrave Club since 2011.

Beyond her civic contributions, Molly was defined by her long-standing friendships, her natural charisma, and a unique ability to bring people together. A true sun-lover, nothing brought her more peace than a warm summer afternoon - soaking up the sun, drifting off to sleep with a good book while her family was nearby. Her home and heart were always anchored by her fierce love for her four-legged companions, and she cherished each one dearly over the years: Whiskers, Bogart, Archie, and her faithful Freddie Mac.

She is survived by her husband, Rick; her daughter, Lee; compassionate caregiver, Amsale Seyoum; and her devoted chosen family, Alma (Kathleen) Nivet.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 in the sanctuary of All Saints Church, 3 Chevy Chase Circle, Chevy Chase, Maryland, 20815. A reception and lunch will immediately follow at the Chevy Chase Club.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Molly's memory to the Montgomery County Humane Society.
