Passed away June 13, 2010 of Bethesda, MD. She was born in 1915 in Washington, DC. The daughter of the late William G. Hughes and Mary Asquith Hughes. She graduated from St. Mary's Female Seminary, now St. Mary's College of Maryland. After inheriting family papers, she became interested in genealogy. In 1986 she published a book called, "Jamestown to Charles Town." The book was presented to the D.A.R. library and others. She was a member of the Magna Charta, Jamestown Society, Ancient Planters, Colonial Dames XVII Century, Colonial Dames of America, and D.A.R. She was the beloved wife of the late Harry M. Tayloe. She is predeceased by her daughter Mary R, Shortley and her son William R. Tayloe. She is survived by her son Allwood Scott, grandson Carter R. Tayloe, granddaughter Mary R.
