Nancy Gormley peacefully left this world on September 28, 2025, surrounded by her beloved family. Born on December 27, 1930, in Toledo, Ohio, to Mary and Glenn White, Nancy embraced her roots and devoted her life to uplifting those around her. She studied nursing at the University of Toledo, where she discovered her passion for helping others, which she later carried into her fulfilling career with Dr. Sussman in Woodbridge, Virginia.
In 1951, Nancy married Frank Finamore and devoted herself to raising their six daughters and one son: Susan Erxleben, Patricia Wingfield (Chuck), Christina Ferguson (Glenn), Peggy Dundon (Larry), Toni Poe (Steve), Gloria Burns, and Frank Finamore, Jr. (Peter). Known as “Mrs. Fin,” her home was a welcoming place for those seeking support. Her generosity and empathy were immeasurable, leaving a profound mark on everyone she encountered.
In 1985, she married Dr. Daniel Gormley, and together they enjoyed traveling and serving at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Parish. They actively supported the St. Vincent DePaul Society and were members of the Third Order of Saint Francis. She cared for Dan for several years as he lived with ALS, and after his passing in 2004, Nancy continued her commitment to helping those in need, advocating tirelessly for the less fortunate, and resuming her volunteer work with St. Vincent de Paul..
Nancy's legacy lives on through her seven children, two stepchildren, fifteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. A true champion of family, and a pioneer in redefining family dynamics through her unwavering commitment to her children for many years, she cherished every moment spent with loved ones and proudly held the title of "Nana." Her boundless kindness, empathy, and countless acts of generosity defined her life and inspired all who knew her. Guided by her motto, “Let us live more simply so others may simply live,” Nancy's spirit of compassion will resonate through her family and the many lives she touched.
